About CPP
"It is easier to reach our potential when we learn the value of including others on our quest."
-John Wooden
The Community Play Project (CPP) is an inclusive theatre initiative in Knox County, Il. Through our partnership with Prairie Players Civic Theatre, we provide opportunities for individuals of all abilities to grow, learn, and succeed through participation in the performing arts.
Our vision is to provide meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in community theatre arts programs and events; to strengthen and diversify the arts in Knox County and the surrounding area; to become a leading example of inclusion in our community; to facilitate an appreciation of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their families; and to inspire acceptance of differences through shared experience and human connection.
CPP was established in 2017 as a collaboration between KCCDD and the Knox County Community in partnership with the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities.
